"The Goose Girl", written by Shannon Hale. It is a whimsical story of a young princess who can speak with the birds and horses. It has touches of magic and I just fell in love with it. Shannon Hale also wrote "Austenland", which I loved, and "Princess Academy", which is on my "to-read" list. I just learned that "The Goose Girl" is the first of a series, so I'm excited to read on. Yipee!
I am almost finished reading "The Undaunted" by Gerald Lund. I never thought my dad and I would be reading the same novel, but I was telling my mom about this book and she said my dad is reading it too! It is full of church history, pioneer stories, Indian encounters, inspirational moments, funny experiences and most importanly romance. Don't let the thick 800 pages scare you off. It is a great read and I can't wait to finish and see how it ends.

Others that I have read that I enjoyed but wouldn't dare recommend as a "good read" due to language and other content. Yes, they were all made into movies, motivating me to read the books before I saw the show. I have yet to see "The Time Traveler's Wife" but other two titles were much cleaner in the theaters, thank heavens.

How fun! I have read all the shannon Hale books--very good reads. I think Goose Girl, Princess
Academy, and Austenland were my favorites. Enjoy:)
Thanks for the recommendation! I think I'll try Goose Girl as my next read! I love fantasy books with a touch of magic!
yippee---you just saved me several hours and trips to bookstores THANKS nattie!
You inspired me - I picked up a new book today - now if I could only find time to actually read it! :)
All of these books I have wanted to read. I will have to work on that! One of my friends here loved "My sister's keeper"- but said there was some bad language in it. Was the movie good? I also heard the Time Travlere's wife had some bad "scenes" in it. What was in Julie and Julia that made it not as good to recommend? I have been wanting to read the book and see the movie- but haven't had a chance to do either. Did you like the movie?
Anyway- thanks for the recommendations!
Hey Natalie... did you watch the movie for "my sister's keeper, or the travelers wife" ? Are the books like the movies? thanks for the tips of good books!
Okay, so pick up the book The Hunger Games... I loved it and am so excited to read its sequel... How are your feeling? I love you!!
I love hearing about what other people are reading! Thanks for posting. What did you think of My Sister's Keeper? I'm in the middle of it now and kind of have mixed emotions.
By the way, take a look at the Giveaway I'm doing on my blog -- it might be of interest to you and your little peeps!
