Last Sunday, the night before school began, Kent was able to give our children a Father's Priesthood Blessing. While I was growing up, this has been a special tradition in my family. Now, as a mother, I am grateful that my husband is a worthy Priesthood holder that undertands the importance of blessings in our lives. We had a family home evening lesson explaining what a Priesthood blessing is and some things that come from having one. We learned that we can be protected, comforted, healed from sick and given direction in our lives. As our kids go off to school and make new friends that could influence them for better or worse, I am thankful for the knowledge that we have given them the tools necessary to make wise choices and to be a leader to those around them. I, myself, received a priesthood blessing a couple weeks ago by my sweet husband and his dear friend, Jory. I am thankful to the Lord for putting people in our lives that can help us make it through hard times, especially without having family around us. I am thankful for the gospel in my life and thankful for my husband and his love for me and for our children.
