Speaking of Preparing...

Kent and I took the kids school shopping to get Ethan some new jeans.
It wasn't a total loss, Ethan did find a backpack that he loves so much he had to wear it on our walk last night. He also found four shirts that pretty much look exactly the same (I was so preoccupied at the store, I didn't see the shirts he picked out until we got home). We did, however, have a problem finding pants that would fit. Ethan has such a small waist with long, skinny legs. The size 5 were a little too short, while the size 6 were drowning him. Has anyone tried the slim jeans at Old Navy or Gap? I'm wondering if it's worth the trip (remember, I live in the middle of nowhere). I thought I'd get some opinions first...?

I just got Kason some of the slim from old navy. They are great. He has the same problem. They fit him really well. He was able to do a 5 without them drowning in the waist. Good luck!!

Keira also has the same problem, she's a size 7 slim, and I either buy slim or make sure there is an adjustable waist elastic/button on the inside of the waistband. I'm not sure if they do adjustable waist for boys, but it's worth a try!

Yes Yes! We love the slims from Old Navy and Gap. It makes a huge diff. Target has a slim jean also and they are bit less $$$. Good luck to ya!

I just have to say that I used to think Sunnyside was the middle of nowhere too. One word. Nubeiber.
Yeah, I like the slim jeans from old navy. Cameron has the same issues.

My girls have often worn slim, and it usually works well. I recently got slim pants from target for lindsey. They are too long but she is at that in between spot where toddler isn't big enough and the size fours are a little big--like 3 inches too long. Would it be cheaper to order on line and try to measure really well? Since I have no idea how far you have to go, just a thought.

Hayden has a tiny waist, too, but thankfully short legs. However, I still have problems getting just the right fit. I ordered several pairs from Old Navy and the 5T has an adjustable waist (don't know if the larger sizes do too, but it should note that online) and even though I have to cinch them up 5 holes on each size, they fit! O.N. has a great return policy and if you have a GAP silver card, it's always free shipping, so I justify buying stuff that way! Good luck...

We have the same problem. Emma's waist fits about a size 4, but she needs the size 6 for length. We did find adjustable waist jeans at Penneys for girls, and we do have that in town. :o) But I do also like Old Navy for their slims and adjustable waists.

My kids also have the same problem, like everyone else who commented - - You think that they would be more available, due to how many kids need them! I will have to try Target, since I am not that far. If you come to Yakima, give me a call! I will watch Ella for you!

Old Navy or Gap slim WITH the adjustable waist work great. I tried Target ones that said slim and they were still too big. I just order Aidan's online. Old Navy doesn't carry the slim ones in the store until you hit the size 8's- at least that's what I've found out here in Utah.
