Without Being Asked
Today I was able to give a talk in sacrament meeting. The Bishop gave me the topic of "Without Being Asked." I talked about service and enriching others lives. I was read some scriptures that talked about the importance of loving and serving others. In Mosiah Chapter 2, King Benjamin talks about his life of service. He talks of the purpose of service is not to boast, but to be of a clear conscience before the Lord. We were sent here to talk care of each other. "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." I want to be able to have a clear conscience, knowing that I have served where I am needed. I pray I can be strong enough to do what Heavenly Father put me here for. I also found some scriptures that reminded me of the gifts and talents that Heavenly Father gives to each of us to help those that we associate with. I am thankful I was asked to speak today because it gave me a chance to truly reflect on the associations that I have had throughout my life. I have been so blessed to have an amazing family, wonderful friends, and inspiring examples. I know that I am loved by so many. I am humbled to have so many people in my life that amaze me. I pray that I can continue to learn and grow from the people that the Lord puts into my life. This is just my way of saying, "If you are reading this- you have touched me." I love you and thank you for all you have done. As I learn who I am, and continue to create the woman I want to become, I constantly think of those who have been incredible examples of gifts and talents I would like attain. What a wonderful world we live in with so many happy and loving people. Stay true to yourselves because something that you have, someone else does not. People need YOU for the things you can offer. I love you!
