Be Strong Myrick, we LOVE you!

Thank you everyone for your concern for Myrick. His surgery went well. He said he feels tired, but good.

Today my brother, Myrick, goes into have heart surgery! I wanted to post this darling picture of him and his son, Mav, to give him the courage to be super strong! You have lots of people praying for you Myrick.
I wanted to send him a little "shout out" to let him know how great I think he is. He is the funniest guy. It's hard for him to be serious. Even as I text him on my phone right now, before he is heading into surgery, I asked him how he is doing. All he can talk about is- because he is fasting- that he has to miss breakfast! What a crazy kid. He has a tough time talking about feelings and saying "I love you." Maybe once he gets that hole in his heart fixed, he won't be so uncomfortable saying LOVE LOVE LOVE all the time. He is getting better, I used to say "I love you" to make him feel weird and he'd say it back just to tease with me. Now when he says it to me, I think he really means it! haha. I am thankful that Myrick and I were able to go to high school together (Go Cavemen). As far as older brothers go, he could have been mean and nasty to his nerdy little sister. I want to tell him thank you for being as good as he was. Every memory I have, with him in it, makes me laugh. Here are a few...

-Trying to impress Nicole and I by putting a ramen noodle up his nose and working so hard to get it to come out his mouth (gross! Be glad you didn't have to watch. Sorry, Nicole).
- He always used Red Vines as a straw in a glass of cold milk.
- We watched the comedian, Louis Anderson, over and over together. "Mom! Louis is looking at me again!"
- I loved watching him play soccer on the High School team. He was so good.
- Myrick had about 100 different cars during high school (thanks to my dad's hobby at the car auction). I'm thankful he was nice enough to give me a ride. Someone actually asked if Myrick was going to take me to PROM! They saw us ride to school everyday and I guess didn't know we were brother and sister. That shows what a nice brother he was to me! Hopefully that doesn't embarrass him too much.

Oh,yes, I remember that noodle... NASTY, yet- hilarious! please send him our love or rather (not to make him uncomfortable) let him know we are praying for him.

As far as the Saloon dress goes- you will have to talk to Lagoon about borrowing it! That's right- we actually took one of those old fashioned pics at Lagoon. Nerdy huh!

Natalie,
Quin and I were so happy to see that Kent bought his car. That is a big deal, and no one deserves it more. Hooray! I love the pictures of Ethan. He is such a treasure. Also, thank you for the inspiring talk at church.
I love you so,
Joy

Sorry to hear Myrick is dealing with this. Hopefully everything will turn out well for him. My fav car was the Sub with the old skiis strapped to the top. And you know we didn't just go to those soccer games to watch Myrick;) Dear ol' AF High...

Ok I just laughed and laughed at this blog. Russ was texting Myrick the night before his surgery, and I said, tell him we love him, and he's like, uhh-no. I was like why not? You do love him don't you? When is a better time to tell someone that you love them then when they are going in for HEART SURGERY!! And he went on to say that "we aren't like that, we don't say I love you" and I said maybe you should start. Anyway, he'd probably be mad I told this story-oh well. :) He LOVES his family. He just doesn't know how to say it. :) So he ended up texting myrick-"Mer says we love you"-Lame huh?! And all Myrick wrote back was "thanks mer". So i got a huge kick out of this blog, just picturing Myrick getting Russ' text message and probably not knowing what to write back!

I'm sorry to hear Myrick(and your family) are going through this scary situation. I pray that all went well with his surgery. Truth time: I always had a little crush on Myrick (but you probably already knew that)-- he was just so dang funny!
