Last night we had our Family Home Evening lesson about 1 Nephi 3:7 " 7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." We emphasized the lesson of being a leader and following the Lord by faith and by action.  Kent then gave Ethan and Ella Father's blessings to help give them the strength and protection they need to start another year at school.  As parents, we warned them of the trials they might face and asked them ways they could avoid making the wrong choices.  Ella gave the blessing over breakfast this morning and prayed that she and Ethan could be leaders at school to do good things.  I hope they will remember what they have learned when they are not with mom and dad all day at home.  I love these kids and hope they have a great experience this year, especially being at the same school!
