Spokane Tournament

Since basketball is requires a lot of our time, we try and make it a fun family event as much as possible.  Ethan's team was playing in the Spokane basketball tournament, so we went down a day early and enjoyed the activities in Spokane.

We spent most of our time at the Riverfront Park.  We played mini-golf, saw an IMAX movie, walked around the park and enjoyed feeding the ducks along the river.

Seeing a fortune teller booth always takes me back to seeing these when I was a child.
Usually you couldn't pay Ethan enough to ride a carousel but this is no ordinary carousel.  This one has an arm that comes out and has a little ring in it.  The goal is to try and grab out a ring and then toss it into a little hole on the other side as you go around the carousel.  I probably didn't describe that well, but the kids have a great time.  Anything that adds a level of competition has Ethan's interest.  Kent hopped on to help Ella try and reach the ring- who are we kidding?  Anything that has a level of competition has Kent's interest too.

Grandpa, Grandma, Bubs and I were smart enough to stay in the "party area" and just watch that action.

I can't remember what Ella was doing that she felt she needed to apologize for, but I didn't want to miss documenting this moment.
She had been reading this book so that is where the "dumb bunny" term came from.

At night we met up with the team at Chili's for dinner.  We were all staying at the same hotel so everyone had a good time swimming and playing basketball in the pool.
Once the partying was done, it was time to get to the business we came for- basketball.  The team played hard through all of their games and won the championship!  I'd say it was a very successful weekend.
