Remember in the last post when the article talked about offering help without doing anything is really no help at all? Well, that is exactly what my brother, Greg must've felt when he asked me if he could put together a decathlon of fun events to raise awareness for Menkes, and of our little Cannon. I must add that my brother delivers Cannon balloons on a regular basis, knowing that with Cannon's limited activities, he is still able to watch the colorful balloons move and float above his head. He and my family brainstormed together to come up with an event that touched my heart so deeply. Being out of state from the rest of my family is very hard, especially with all the challenges we have faced with Cannon. We have been overwhelmingly blessed by my parents coming often to relieve us of tiresome and trying times and we are so thankful for the thoughtfulness and support that has been put into this event. That being said, here is the letter our family received presenting the Cannon Boy Run!!!!

What a truly wonderful idea! Copper donations--so thoughtful and so clever! Wow! Your brother has truly been inspired with this fantastic idea! Maybe someday we won't have to tell all the nurses in the hospital how to care for a Menke patient--maybe they will already have heard about it through causes such as this! Way to go, little Bubba Boy! You are our hero!
