Potty Training

For all of you that feel Ella is ready to be potty trained....? Come on over and help me!
Today I have started the process of getting Ella to stop wearing diapers. I have come to terms with the fact that the next few days I will be spending at home-cleaning up messes! Why do you think I've had so much time to catch up on my blogging? So far Ella and I have been working on it for about 2 hours and had one accident. She seems to be responding (atleast going through the motions with me) so we'll see what the outcome is by the end of the week. I am using the ol' "m&m" trick and lots of juice. Any ideas... I'm open for suggestions.

oooo- I hate potty training! No advice here . . . Cynthia didn't stop having accidents until after our move to Yakima, and Marcus was almost 4! So- I am definitely NOT the one to talk to about potty training!

I bought some pull-ups and m&m's the other day so we can start trying with Lillian too- and so far I haven't gathered enough courage to just hit it hard. She seems to be ready, but I'm not sure if I am ready! She can perform the deeds, but I am really not sure about the staying dry part (hence the pull-ups). I think I just want her to get used the the idea of pulling her pants off and on and going regularly, then we will work on staying dry.

Good luck- I am sure Ella will do great! If not, then I totally understand potty issues . . .

Oh, I SOOO understand what you must be going through right now!! Keanu is finally to the point where he only has accidents every once in a while - not even every day, and will tell me when he has to go! The first few days, I took him every 1/2 hour or so, then extended the time. He got little prizes like stickers & small candies.

Have you ever heard of the DR.Phil "Potty Party" thing? You fill her full of juice, and take the doll that can go to the bathroom to the potty. When the doll goes potty, you have a big party in the bathroom. Then you take her every 1/2 hour or so. When she goes, have a party for her too! You might be able to google it, that's all I remember from watching the show! He potty trained kids in a single day.

I wish there was some magic trick....some kids are just easier. Here is my two cents-Positive praise, stay away from pull-ups even though it means more messes. We kept telling Brooklyn that only big girls got to play with Barbies and that seemed to click a bit. Good luck!!
