Ella's Horse Show

It's horse show season again and Ella was so excited to get "back in the saddle".We had to have Ella at the Scott's house at 6:30 in the morning to get to the show on time.
Ethan had two tournament basketball games that same morning so he and Kent weren't able to make it to the horse show until that afternoon.  Ethan and Kent wrote Ella a letter for her to read for good luck,

It is so fulfilling to see Ella work hard and excel in something she loves.  Horse lessons has taught her so many good principles.  Kent and I are so happy she has the opportunity to have this experience.

Kent said Ethan played his two best games yet, with his team winning both games.  They hurried up tot he horse arena to support Ella in the rest of her competitions.  Ella told me before the show that she "really wants to make her brother proud of her."  She did make him proud.

Two of Ella's best friends were also in the show.  Her friends each have their own horse.  Ella's horse instructor was so generous to let Ella borrow her horse to ride with her friends.  I really wish we were in a position to get Ella her own horse.

Spring Break- Utah 2013

Spring Break in Utah was so much fun!  Cannon was a bit sick with a cold so we had to pull over a couple times to suction him on the way, but once we got to Grandma's house- she took over and Cannon was happy to be in her arms.  We were glad to be able to be in Utah for Easter and had fun doing egg hunts and dying eggs.
At the local Walmart they had a small petting farm of baby animals and a fun Easter egg hunt.

We were lucky enough for Annie to come with us again this year.  She was so great to have around.  Ethan introduced her as his "adopted sister" and that is who she was all week long.

Annie and Jessica were able to go to the General Young Women's conference.  Camille let Ethan and Ella sleep over at her house while I went with my parents, Jessica, Annie and Cannon down to Salt Lake.  We stayed in the Marriott hotel at City Creek, right across the street from temple square. Since my parents serve as missionaries at the conference center, they were at the women's conference.  Cannon and I walked Jessica and Annie through temple square and over to the conference center.  It was a wonderful sight to see all the young women of the church gathering to hear words of modern revelation and instruction.  After we dropped off Jessica and Annie, Cannon and I took some quiet time in front of the temple.  It was a peaceful experience that I am thankful for.

They had big banners up in the Young Women's Value colors.  It was beautiful.

Ethan, Ella, Annie and I went mini-golfing almost everyday.  We had a few friendly competitions.
We ate breakfast at one of our favorite places- Herms!

The weather was perfect while we were in Logan.  We stopped by the sporting store and picked up tennis rackets and a basketball and spent a few hours at the park.
Our friends, the Braack's, lived in Sunnyside a few years ago but now live in Wyoming.  We've been lucky enough to keep our friendship strong and make the effort to meet up whenever we can.  It was so fun to see them!  We talked about meeting up in Jackson Hole this summer- I hope it happens!

We had a great time with Russ and Mer's family at Baby Animal Day at the Heritage Park in Logan.
I was happy that my bestie, Nicole, was able to meet me in Salt Lake at "our spot", Blue Lemon.  We walked over to temple square and saw the reception room where we both had our wedding receptions (not at the same time).  I love Nicole and I am thankful that our friendship has stood the test of time.  We have been friends for 29 years! Yikes we are getting old.
Utah was a wonderful trip but we have missed Kent and are excited to get back home to see him.  He's been working in Texas once a month.  Our trips overlapped and it has been nearly two weeks since we've had quality time together.
No matter how big of a rush you are in to get home, there is always time for Cold Stone!  Annie's first visit to this delicious creamery.
