Precious Little Special Boy

This precious little baby of ours is one of the sweetest babies I've had the pleasure of knowing. He warms my heart with every coo and smile. Since he is in his fifth month now and not yet meeting his milestones, particularly lifting his head, we are growing more and more worried. He has very low muscle tone and tires easily. After an evaluation, qualifying him for occupational therapy, Cannon was also referred to Seattle Children's Hospital where they have begun the "testing phase" to find out what the underlying cause might be. The first round of testing was hard because they couldn't find a vein that would draw enough blood to complete the tests so they eventually had to draw from a vein in his head. It tore my heart out. I just kept thinking that this will be the beginning of many tests to come. Now that those initial tests have come back with some concern, Cannon had to give blood again. The second time they had success drawing blood from his arm. I had a rattle for Cannon to look at to distract him and he even smiled at us while the needle was still taking blood from his little body. He is such an angel and I am blessed to have him be my little "bubba." I am anxious/scared about the test results and even more so because they could take up to a month to come back. I feel like I am standing on the edge of a huge black hole that I can't see the bottom of. Until the results come back (and even after), I get to love on this little round butter ball and thank Heavenly Father every minute that this special little boy is all mine!

Busy Summer

My mom has been wonderful to come to Washington so many times to help us. While we were waiting for more appointments to be made in Seattle, and our house was being turned upside down with the project of painters coming in to paint every room in our house, we needed to find some things to occupy the kids outside. We decided to take them to a water park in Moses Lake. Ethan also asked if we could stop at Petco and look at the animals (notice his blue iceestained teeth). I'm so thankful for my mom, I could NOT have kept up with everything we had going on without her. We sure did have lots of fun amidst the chaos. This is basically what every room looked like for 9 days while they painted our house.

Alpine Days

The kids were very excited to have Kent fly in and meet up with us for the weekend. We picked him up at the airport and went to Denny's for breakfast to get a Jr. Grand Slam. Kent and the kids have a song they sing to Cannon about the Jr. Grand Slam. Every time they sing it Cannon smiles, so naturally we love Denny's now.
Ella put this napkin over her face and said, "Look, Dad, I'm a Dentist!"
Kent and Cannon just relaxing at Kevin and Angie's house.
While we were in town, we were able to meet up with Kent's sister, Alison, who was visiting from China!
Going out for ice cream is always fun!

In the parking lot of the ice cream shop, they were selling little puppies. My kids want a dog sooooo badly. They gave Kent and I the "PLEEEASE!" look. How could we so no to these four adorable faces?!
Going to Mary's pool is the perfect way to spend a hot summer day with lots of kids to entertain.

I was happy to see Anne, since it had been WAY too long. She and Cameron had two children that I had never met. I love Anne, it is always nice to reconnect and catch up with her.
All of the kids were jumping off the pool house, and Ella was not about to sit around and watch. She was a brave girl, floaties and all.

Who couldn't love this face?
Kids + Sunshine + Trampoline + Water = Hours of endless fun

One of our cousins, Tyson, had his birthday party at the miniature golf course. We were lucky enough to be able to go- everyone had a great time! Tyson is the one right behind Ethan in the red shirt.
Laura was babysitting for Kyle and Kim the same week I was babysitting for Kevin and Angie so we made sure to keep the kids busy. We spent time at the Dinosaur Museum, going to movies, the splash park and out for an ice cream treat.

Kent's sister, Alison, brings lots of jewelry from China and hosts jewelry parties. The girl cousins got all dressed up so they could go to a party with Grandma Laura.
Connor tried out for the High School Golf Team and made in on the Varsity team. The kids were so proud of him they made posters to congratulate him. Laura bought a cake and balloons so we could celebrate with him.
When Kyle and Kim came home, I was able to meet up with some friends from High School for lunch (I can't believe I didn't get a picture!) while Kim and Laura to the kids to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake. Here is Jenna climbing the rock wall.
Sydney shopping in the store.
Ella vacuuming the floors.

Brady and Hannah in the car.

The kids and I extended our visit in Alpine for an extra week so Ethan could attend BYU Sports camp with his cousins. Ethan lives in Washington, Jaxon lives in Texas and Tyson lives in China so they don't get a lot of face time together so it was really a great opportunity for them to spend time doing what they love with each other. I'm glad Ethan was able to do this. The first day was soccer day.
The BYU girl's soccer team coached them at the Indoor Practice Facility. The boys thought it was awesome that they were practicing where the football players practice.

Throughout the week they did Gymnastics, Basketball, Tennis, Baseball and Football. On basketball day they actually practiced on the same court that Cameron (Jaxon's dad) and Kent played together while they were both going to school at BYU. I love this picture. I can see these same boys going to school together at BYU.

One day after camp, we went bowling at Fat Cats
