A Night in Orlando
We spent last weekend in Orlando with Grandpa, Grandma, Craig and Cassie. One night we decided to go to dinner and mini-golf. In the middle of the outdoor shopping center was a water fountain. Ella put her hand in and splashed herself. Then she realized how fun it might be.... need I say more?

We ate dinner at Johnny Rocket's diner. They put ketchup (catsup) on your plate to look like a smiley face. Ethan and Ella had a great time dancing to the music on the jukebox. Again, I wish I had a video camera to show you how Ella loves to move her hips! Hilarious.

Disney World
What a wonderful day. Ella was old enough to enjoy the sites and rides. This was Cassie's first time being at Disney. It was fun to see it through her eyes for the first time. She grew up watching Disney movies so I knew she could appreciate the "magic."
Here is Ella and her Prince Charming
Every time the train would pass, Ella would repeat "choo choo" over and over. Look at those lips!
Big Thunder Mountain is always a fun ride.
Everyone loved Space Mountain. It was Cassie's first time to ride a roller coaster in her life. She was so brave. Ethan was great too. He kept calling back to me "Mom, are you doing okay?" I love that he always takes care of me.
Kent's favorite ride was the Merry-Go-Round. Giddyup!
Can anyone tell me if this is Chip or Dale?
This picture was taken seconds before Ella freaked out and started clinging to George.
It was fun to spend time with Craig and Cassie. We miss them since Kent graduated from dental school. I can't believe Craig is almost halfway done.
The 3-D show was so fun! Ella was a little nervous as things flew out at her. I saw Ethan trying to catch everything. What a crack up!
The Main Street parade was as wonderful as it has always been. I love Disney!
Ella waved at all of the princesses. I love having a girl!

Kent and Craig really enjoyed the parade!

We made it!
Get some popcorn and settle in- this post is a long one.
In case you don't want to read the whole thing, bottom line is:
I traveled alone with the kids (they were amazing) from Sunnyside to Jacksonville, and it took over 25 hours!!
Our trip to Florida began more than 24 hours before arriving here yesterday morning. 8:00 A.M., (pacific time), I throw my kids in the car and set out on the road to drive three hours to get to the airport that will "officially" begin my long trip to Florida alone, with two kids. Yikes. the car ride is not bad, thanks to my cell phone, and my sister, who talked to me on the way (on speaker, right?). We got to Seattle and checked in our bags curbside and then found on park-n-jet to keep our car for the week. From there we were shuttled back to the airport. I was in charge of pushing the stroller with Ella in it, with the "food bag" draped over the back while Ethan was in charge of wheeling the little suitcase full of toys and games. Well, our flight got cancelled due to mechanical problems. They announced for everyone to hop in line so they could redirect us all to different flights. By the time I got myself, my kids, and my stuff gathered, we were about third from the last in line. It took us nearly an hour to reach the desk agent. By this time, I had missed any flights connecting to Jacksonville. The next flight would be the red-eye at 11:45. Which meant I'd have to sit in the airport with my kids for another 8 hours or so. Anyway... Kent was flying out the next night so I asked to get on his flight. They had to run out and see if my luggage had not gone yet. After about 20 minutes they found my bags and tried to get me on Kent's flight. It was sold out so they couldn't do that. They had to send my bags back to my original flight and then start over. Now it had been almost two hours since delay and the plane was almost fixed so they said the flight was not cancelled so they couldn't change my reservations. Two more hours and the plane was finally ready to go to Washington D.C. When we boarded the aircraft (I picked up some "airline lingo") there were only about 8-10 of us that stuck it out, so they put us in first class. Well, with two little ones, I thought I'd spare the other passengers and sit in the back. It was wonderful because the kids could run up and down the isles and not bother anyone. The flight attendants were so great- they were making blanket forts over the seats and calling it "Camp Ethan." They also served us the food that you would normally have to purchase and gave us a couple boxes to go! We had hot fudge sundaes and two free movies! I couldn't have asked for a better flight because when our tummies were full, we each got our own row to stretch out and sleep on. We got into Dulles airport at 1:00 in the morning.
Intermission
Okay. Now we are in D.C. at 1:00 AM. Obviously I have missed my connection to Jacksonville so they gave us taxi, hotel and meal vouchers. I took a taxi over to the Hyatt where they had reserved us a room. When I got there, they were sold out. They shuttled us back to the airport to get new vouchers and sent us to the Hilton. At 3:00, we were settled in our room with a 6:00 wake up call to catch our 8:00 flight to Jacksonville. We got up and got moving without a hitch and caught our flight to Florida. George came to pick us up at baggage claim. I was thankful to see my luggage was not lost. Then we drove 45 minutes home. Whew.
Now we are going to drive 2 1/2 hours to Orlando and go to Downtown Disney tonight and DisneyWorld tomorrow. We are so thankful that we are here safe and the Lord blessed us with many tender mercies on our trip.
Kent drove to Seattle last night straight into Orlando and is now at the hotel resting up! I can't wait to meet up with him today!

Happy Birthday Lincoln
Ethan's best little buddy from Florida is celebrating his 5th birthday today! Ethan and Lincoln have been friends since Ethan was 6 months old and Lincoln was 3 months old. They've been together for every birthday until this year. We love you and miss you Lincoln. We wish the best for you this year!

Have a slice of humble pie
Today, an 11-year-old girl come in to have her teeth cleaned.
When Kent walked in she said, "Who are you?"
Kent answered, "I'm Dr. Copeland."
The girl then responded with, "My friend told me you are cute- but I don't think so."
Kent then asked her, "Why?"
"You are too tall, and you are not my age."
Kent feels bad that he's lost his touch.

Darling Modest Swimsuits
Check out these darling, modest swimsuits. I know I'm rushing summer, but they are so cute! Take a peak and think "white sands, crashing blue waves, and the warm sun!"

Valentine Goodies!
Here is my inspiration, thank you Martha, for what I'd like to make this Valentine's Day. I am scared of making sugar cookies in general, so we'll see how this goes. Happy Baking!
I decided to do a little variation from the orginal. I dipped the cookies in white chocolate and sprinkles. It was fun to try! Thanks, Amy, for the moral support!

Multnomah Falls
Here is a picture I forgot to post earlier. This is the restaurant in the hotel. We had breakfast there every morning. It was delicious and the view of the garden was wonderful. The resort was focused on relaxation. As you can tell, from the couple in the background, it was completely normal to be walking around in your robe all the time. Kent and I couldn't help but laugh when we saw some people in their robes, playing chess in the lobby. Now that is a great hotel!

Kent and I had a very relaxing weekend, full of shopping, good food, and great views.

We ate at the Lodge that rests at the bottom of the falls. It was cold outside and our table was right next to the very large fireplace. It was so romantic. I couldn't get over the view. Every now and then a train would rumble through and I felt like I was living a chapter from a wonderful book.

Weekend Getaway
Kent and I are taking another weekend to ourselves (thank you, Reagran). We are going to a resort spa in the mountains of Oregon, near Multnomah Falls. It should be nice and cozy this time of year. Here are some pictures of what we have to look forward to. Next to the massages, I can't wait to soak in the hot tub on our own patio.
Here are the gorgeous Multnomah Falls. I'm very excited to see more parts of the area we are living .
What a beautiful country!

Something's Missing!
Have we really hit that stage in life? The goofy stage where the little teeth fall out, only to be replaced by giant, jagged teeth that don't really fit? Oh well, here is to the first of many that will be giving Ethan a little extra spending money. He was so brave about it. At first we thought he was teasing us that he had a loose tooth (his friends are older so he always tries to be older too). Then he asked Kent if he could go into his office to have "sleepy juice" put on his tooth and get it pulled out. The morning before he was going to go to Kent's office, it fell out at school while he was eating lunch! So now Ethan can be proud he did it all on his own- with a little help from his corn-dog!

Getting outside the box
Grandma sent us a UPS package yesterday and the kids had a great time playing with the box and the peanuts. Look out Grandma- we're sending a package back. It should be there soon! (If only...)

Reagran and her family came over for family home evening and we had a great time making a HUGE MESS!
Don't worry- these kids are angels so they cleaned up!
(Aren't we just loving Ella's "banana" jammies?)
